International Flights Guide to Boarding Procedures

Please arrive early and complete your boarding (check-in) procedures at the international flight check-in counters (1F).
Present your airline ticket and passport at the counter, and check all luggage except any carry-on bags.
Obtain your boarding pass and baggage claim ticket from the airline counter staff.

Carry-on bags will be inspected at the security gate (2F).
Please show your boarding pass to the security personnel.
The staff will use an X-ray inspection machine to confirm the safety of items in your carry-on bags.
Pick up your carry-on bags after passing through the metal detector, and proceed to your boarding gate.
  
Note: As of March 1, 2007, passengers are not permitted to carry items such as PET bottles onto aircraft. Please see each airline’s website to confirm the restrictions for carry-on goods.

If you are taking foreign-manufactured items (wrist watch, bag, etc.) with you when you leave Japan, and do not receive confirmation from Customs when you leave the country, you may be assessed a duty upon re-entry to Japan because customs officers will be unable to distinguish the items from goods you purchased abroad.
Please list any such articles and submit a written report to the Customs Office.

Note: If you use a passport cover, please remove the cover before presenting your passport to ensure the examination proceeds smoothly.

After waiting in the pre-boarding area until the airline personnel explain the boarding procedure, please board the aircraft according to the staff’s instructions.
